Job Summary: 

 Assist in the daily operation of computer systems.
 Carry out all tasks on the daily checklists.
 Provide helpdesk support to the retailers/agents as appropriate and log all calls in a Hotline Software System (Tribase); dispatch Field Service Technicians as appropriate.
 Generate reports as agreed per schedule and request. Assist in verifying the validity and clarity of computer reports and other output before releasing it from Computer Operations.
 Report all hardware problems to Senior Computer Operator or Computer Operations Supervisor.
 Take appropriate follow-up action on all customer queries under supervision.
 Monitor systems regularly for problems that may occur during the day and take corrective action where appropriate; notify senior personnel on reported incidents.
 Assist in the recovery activities necessary to restore normal operations.
 Follow the correct escalation procedures within Computer Operations and other Departments who are inter-dependent.
 Maintain an environmentally safe computer room and computer storage area
 Ensure that supplies do not fall below minimum requirements.
 Maintain disk, tape and cartridge library to standards.
 Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Must be able to work in a shift environment 24/7 365 days per year

1 – 2 years of experience in an UNIX environment will be an asset.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office will be an asset.
