Position Title: Hospice Manager

Location: Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica

Start Date: As soon as possible

Hope Hospice, located in Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica, is a twenty two bed facility for persons living with HIV/AIDS, the destitute and those needing special care to recover.

A rare opportunity now exists for a Hospice Manager at Hope Hospice. This is a great position for the right candidate. You will have the chance to inspire a team of workers and volunteers, and reach into the community to offer help to people whose outlook seems hopeless.

Essential Skills/Credentials:
• Management and/or leadership training.
• Experience working with the poor and underprivileged.
• Front line experience in an AIDS or palliative care hospice.
• Knowledge and/or experience in managing project based finances.
• Community outreach experience.
• Hospice Manager Certificate and Project Management education an asset.
• Knowledge of Jamaican and international labour laws.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise and participate in day to day operations of the Hospice, promoting a harmonious working atmosphere for staff and patients.
• Schedule staff and distribute weekly payroll.
• Coordinate patient admissions, transportation, and home visits.
• Organize programs for continuing education.
• Cooperate with Social Workers to locate family members and find resources to augment the needs of patients admitted without support from family members.
• Maintain buildings and physical surroundings.
• Manage general operations of the Hospice including finances, community outreach, hospitality, and coordination with benefactors.
