VACANCY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified nationals of Trinidad and Tobago for employment, on contract, in the undermentioned position in the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs:
HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT
Job Summary
The incumbent would be required to assist the Senior Human Resource Officer and Director of Human Resource Management in the implementation of human resource management policies and procedures. Work involves conducting investigations and research to inform decision making; the analysis of data on human resource matters and the development and maintenance of employee records.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts research into human resource management issues.
Analyses and interprets human resource management policies and makes recommendations on their application.
Assists with the updating of Staff Establishments.
Liaises with the Chief Personnel Officer, Director of Personnel Administration and Chief State Solicitor on employee matters.
Assists with the collation of Retirement documents for submission to the Pension and Leave Section.
Assists with the conduct of Training Needs Assessment.
Provides up-to-date and timely information on employee matters.
Researches information for special projects.
Prepares responses to queries from central Human Resource agencies and other stakeholders.
Performs related work as may be required by the job function.
Minimum Qualifications, and Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University in Human Resource Management/Social Sciences/Management/or a related field.
A minimum of two (2) years working experience in the various functional areas of human resource management.
Ability to conduct training activities.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of the legislation and related rules pertaining to the administration of the Public Service.
